The wine world is a-buzz about English sparkling wine being the 'New Champagne', a claim that only strengthened in 2010 when the Nyetimber Classic Cuvee from West Sussex won the World Sparkling Wine Championships, beating the top Champagne houses. Similarities in terroir between the south of England and Champagne would indicate that we can continue to expect big things from our local sparkling wines.
