Story: The JL Wolf Estate was founded way back in 1756, and for much of its existence has been a very successful and highly regarded winery. However, things were not looking so rosy in the latter years of the 20th Century, with the estate languishing and quality dropping. Enter Ernest Loosen – famed winemaker and the driving force behind Dr Loosen in the Mosel. He took control in 1996 and led a drastic turnaround in quality under his firm guidance. Here he aims to make wines that are drier and more full-bodied than those at Dr Loosen.
