Story: Madame Clicquot is the star of the Veuve Clicquot story. Widowed at just 27 years of age, she took over the reins of her late husband’s Champagne house and established Veuve Clicquot Ponsardin as one of the most respected luxury Champagne brands in the world. Under her leadership, Veuve Clicquot Ponsardin would be at the forefront of Champagne production innovation and establish themselves as one of the favoured drinks of the European bourgeoisie. One of those innovations was to produce Champagne Rosé by blending red and white wines, rather than macerating black grapes.
