Our Staff
Celia Buridant (Manager)
After studying Regional Development in Nantes, France, Celia decided to travel for a year. She started her trip in London where she shared a flat with a Sommelier and was introduced to the wine world. The second stop was New York where she worked in a wine bar where the passion grew up. When she came back to London she passed her WSET exams and worked as a Sommelier at Bibendum Restaurant. After a few experiences in the off trade and on trade, she has now joined Sipp London for a new adventure. She likes crispy and aromatic white like Gruner Veltliner but her favorites wines are big and spicy reds, especially from Italy. Nevertheless she still loves her Champagnes, the area she hails from in France.
Oliver Hamilton (Sales Associate)
Oliver has come from a background running pubs and restaurants in London. In this capacity he used to choose which wines his company stocked, compiled their wine lists and provided the staff training. From here he became interested in wine and started studying it. He is currently in the middle of his Diploma from the WSET. He is particularly interested in viticulture although has never got his hands dirty in a vineyard just yet. His choice of tipple depends on the company he keeps, his girlfriend likes Condrieu and Meursault so he's a happy man. He's in his element with a wedge of pungent cheese and a bottle of Sauternes
Mark Dearing (Sales Associate)
Mark has recently taken his WSET Advanced Certificate and has spent the last four years working in wine retail. Starting in a wine section in a high end supermarket before working as a wine advisor at a luxury department store, he has gone on to develop a passion for wine that has been pushed in other retail and hospitality roles before arriving at Sipp London. He is particularly interested in the wines of Bordeaux and Burgundy, but is always keen to attend tastings and discuss the wines of the New World, in particular Chile and California. Mark is looking to commence the WSET Diploma course shortly, but not before a short wine tour from the Northern Rhone to the Languedoc –Roussillon, which he would love to complete in the coming summer. In his spare time Mark drinks approximately one case of Chateau Petrus per week, which is rapidly becoming a problem. In the real world, however, Mark tries to vary his wine drinking alongside a particular love for British ale.
Anthony Field-Johnson (Sales Associate)
Having graduated from Edinburgh University, Anthony unerringly decided to join the wine industry. He spent two years with a major wine retailer completing his WSET Advanced Certificate. Trips to Champagne, Rioja and Germany did nothing to dispel his affection for the wine industry and only affirmed his passion to explore the wine world further. So he packed his bags and headed to the Western Cape of South Africa and found himself a job as sommelier for a very renowned local restaurant. After a year sauntering through Stellenbosch, Franschhoek and Paarl his visa eventually expired and returned to London. Further honing his skills at a couple of quality wine merchants both within the on-trade and private sectors, Anthony was lured to Sipp London and couldn't resist the chance to be immersed in the fine wine world of Knightsbridge.
