Story: A name that has become synonymous with New Zealand wine, Cloudy Bay takes its title from the bay at the eastern extremity of the Wairau Valley. The estate was established in 1985 by David Hohnen, who had tasted some fine examples of the vibrant Sauvignon Blanc and was inspired to try his hand in the region. The Wairau Valley is particularly suited to winegrowing, as it enjoys a maritime climate and the longest hours of sunshine of any place in New Zealand. They have extended their range beyond the classic Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noirs to include superb expressions of Chardonnay, Riesling and Pinot Gris, among others.

Tasting Notes: A Cloudy Bay classic, it has vibrant aromas of tropical fruits, pears and grapefruits, with signature herbaceousness. The palate is fresh and zippy, packed full of gooseberry notes and citrus freshness.
